Comunaglia, as explained in the ‘history’ section, is a small village that has sprung up over various centuries around the Pieve, the origins of which date back to the end of the first millennium AD. At the beginning of 2000 we found it in an abandoned state and partially demolished; parts of it belonged to the Catholic Church and others to private families. Only the foundations remained of some of the buildings and they could hardly be discerned beneath the vegetation.
After 3 years spent in a vain attempt at obtaining building permits for the restoration, a new mayor of Umbertide was elected in 2004, Giampiero Giulietti, who supported the project enthusiastically despite not allowing the construction of a single square inch more than what was permissible.

We began the restoration works at the end of the summer of 2005 but the weather was so bad and rainy that the works could only begin properly in March of 2006.
However, after that, the weather was particularly dry, allowing us to make up for lost time.
The floors and walls of the houses have been completed and now only the interior works remain to be carried out.

However, these will only be carried out once the properties have been purchased by the new owners so that they can choose them according to their personal taste.

.

The houses are located on a hilltop, around 450 metres above sea level and with an amazing 360 degree panoramic view.
Around 4 hectares (15 acres) of land will belong to the village while the surrounding fields are covered with olive groves, hazel groves, vineyards and woods.
The village is equipped with high-tech, and ecological, accessories, such as biomass central heating which allows hot water to be distributed to all the houses (thus avoiding the need for boilers), photovoltaic support generators, a broadband internet connection and so on.
We have also built a sports centre which comprises a heated swimming pool and tennis courts for the use of the buyers.
